Downloading and Burning Your Mix

Once you have created a mix, the next step is to download your mix and extract the files to prepare them for use. It's like riding a bike - once you've done it, it's really easy - honest!

Downloading

1. After your payment is confirmed, click "View My Mix" or go to the Manage My Account menu and then select My Mixes. Your most recent mix will always be first in the list. Click on your most recent mix to go to the details page for that mix. The system has already begun to create your mix and should take about 10 minutes to complete the entire process.

2. Click the "Refresh" link found on this page to view the progress of the mixing process.

3. Once your mix is complete, click the large green "Download" button in the upper left corner. At this point you will have the option to download and save your mix somewhere on your computer. We highly recommend that you choose your Desktop Folder as the location for saving your download. Downloading the file could take 20-40 minutes depending on your internet connection speed.

4. Your mix will be saved as a set of mp3 files in a compressed zip folder named Mixfile.zip. They will need to be extracted before they can be mixed and burned to CD. NOTE: Some PCs will let you play the files even before they are extracted. If you do this, or burn the tracks with a CD burner not provided by us, you will get unwanted gaps between the tracks.

5. To extract your files, locate the compressed Mixfile.zip file that you saved on your desktop. Right click on it once, and in the menu that appears select "Extract All Files". Then choose where you want your mix to be saved. We suggest setting up a folder on your desktop that you name ClickMix so you will know how to easily locate your tracks. (Macintosh users: Simply double click the .zip file, and the computer will automatically extract the files into a new folder for you.)

Congratulations! You've just downloaded and saved your mix! It is now ready to burn to CD or transfer to your iPod.

Creating Your Audio CD (Burning)

Every mix from ClickMix comes with our unique 1-Click CD burner. This custom created burning program is the key to creating a seamless CD without gaps in between the tracks. Using any other burning software will result in gaps between your tracks, which can throw you off the count. But why would you use anything else? Our 1-Click Burning Software is so easy to use, most household pets could do it! Here's what you do...

Windows: After extracting the files from the compressed .zip file, you will see a folder that contains your music MP3s, and an application named (PC) CD Burner.exe.
Double click this icon, insert a blank, high-quality CD-R into your drive, and then press the "Burn" button. The program will process the audio files, and then burn your mix.

Macintosh: After extracting the files from the compressed .zip file, you will see a folder that contains your music MP3s, and an application named (Mac) CD Burner.app.
Launch the application, insert a blank, high-quality CD-R into your drive, and press the large "Burn" button in the lower right corner of the window. The program will process the audio files, and then burn your mix.

That's all there is to it! We told you it would be easy.

Transfer Your Mix to an iPod

Many instructors who use ClickMix find that they no longer need the tempo control feature of their facilities CD player because they have already created their mix at the proper tempo. This allows use of an iPod, rather than carrying a collection of CDs to the gym! Luckily, transferring your mixes to an iPod is very easy. Here is what to do:

1. Download and extract your mix files.
2. Plug your iPod into your computer and open iTunes.
3. You may want to create a new Playlist in iTunes for your mix. To do this, go to File and select New Playlist.
4. Highlight and drag the extracted mix MP3 files directly into the empty playlist window in iTunes.
5. Set your new playlist to sync with your iPod.

That's it! When your iPod syncs with your iTunes library your mix will appear on your iPod.
